DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH

Don’t be thrown by the job title, this is an outstanding, almost entry level, for the “right” candidate! Mid-sized full service commercial real estate company located in downtown Atlanta seeks to hire a Director of Research to join their team. Our client is willing to train an analytically-oriented individual possessing minimal experience with a bachelor’s in economics, real estate, or related field coupled with familiarity with CoStar. This is an excellent door-opening opportunity for someone wanting to get into commercial real estate to broaden their skills and knowledge.

You will be responsible for collecting quarterly market data, tracking absorption, rental rates, and other trends in the metro Atlanta office market. This role provides support to management, brokers, and administrative staff with a wide range of real estate research and due diligence assignments. Duties include entering data into proprietary database, ensuring data integrity, and production of comprehensive analysis of a variety of industry-standard publications and reports.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive market research, producing due diligence material and financial analysis for all types of commercial real estate properties.
Perform research, tracing of sale/lease comparables and lease analysis.
Conduct property search surveys for agents for leasing and sale assignments.
Perform on-line and in-house information searches and surveys for brokers.
Publishing; editing pictures for flyers and presentations.
Oversee company research subscriptions and assist in new licenses, training, etc. for certain real estate related products. (CoStar, LoopNet, Courthouse Retrieval Systems (CRS)).
Create statistical research reports and narrative analyses as needed.
Produce quarterly Atlanta Commercial Market reports using data and narrative analysis.
Provide custom mapping services as requested, such as competitive set map, plats, aerials, drive-time maps, etc.
Search County Tax Records.

Requirements:

Attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CoStar, Loopnet and Courthouse Retrieval Systems (CRS).
Ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.

Position will pay $68- $70,000 plus benefits to include medical, vacations/holidays, and company paid parking. This is an in-office role, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
